Jeanie Holroyd was born in 1952 and her traditional country includes Pormpuraaw and the North Holroyd River region in Queensland. Jeanie speaks four Aboriginal languages, as well as English.

Jeanie is a dancer and traditional weaver. Recently she has begun experimenting with painting and printmaking. Her artworks celebrate the stories of her people, and her totems - the jabiru and Jellyfish.

In 2016 she was represented in the Taba Naba exhibition at the Oceanic Institute, Monaco, and in 2017 in the exhibition, Australia: Defending the Oceans at the Musée d’ethnographie de Genève, Geneva, Switzerland. Her work is represented in public and private collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra.

She is represented by Pormpuraaw Art & Culture, Queensland.
