Artist Showcase | Anastasia Klose

Anastasia Klose was born in 1978 in Melbourne, Victoria. She now lives and works in Mossman, Queensland.

Anastasia works across a range of media including video, performance and installation art. She is recognised for her lo-fi production aesthetics that include generic editing software, handwritten signage and public domain fonts and texts. Her work has received much attention due to the personal nature of her subject matter, often putting herself in humiliating situations.

I like words in art, I like playful art, I like art that means something. I like to have something to say, I like to surprise. I am interested in the destruction of capitalism. I am also interested in saving companion animals from the pound and streets.

In 2021 she was represented in the Cairns Art Gallery’s FNQ Contemporaries exhibition that supported the Gallery’s Fellowship program in partnership with the Cairns RSL.
