Artist Showcase | Naomi Hobson

Language groups: Kaantju/Umpila

Naomi Hobson was born in 1978 and lives and works in the remote community of Coen, Queensland. She works in a range of media, including painting, ceramics, and photography.

Growing up in Coen, Naomi has a deep knowledge of her Country and the stories of her ancestors. Through her art she also likes to explore the little things around her – the things that often go unnoticed or are hidden by nature. For Naomi, using different media allows her to re-define rather than recycle ideas and concepts through her artworks.

Naomi has had an extensive exhibiting history since her first exhibition in 2013. She has received numerous prizes and awards and her work is held in major national and international public and private collections.

She is represented by Art House Gallery, Sydney, and ReDot Fine Art Gallery, Singapore.
