Artist Showcase | Lone White

Lone White was born in Denmark in 1942. In 1964 she moved to Australia, and in 1976 she and her family moved to Cairns, Queensland, where she now lives and works.

Lone is an established ceramic artist with an extensive exhibition career. Her works she seeks to excite, inspire and confront people with different, internationally inspired bold shapes, designs, textures, and colours.

Lone has won many awards and has exhibited extensively in Australia and overseas. Her work is represented in public and private collections, including the Australian National University, Canberra; and Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute at Jingdezhen, China. In 2011 she was awarded an Australia Day medal for Arts and Culture in recognition of her work for the arts in the broader Cairns region.
