Artist Showcase | Kristin Tennyson

Kristin Tennyson was born in Canada in 1971 and moved to Australia in 1993. Kristin lived and worked in Cairns for more than ten years before moving to Biboohra, Queensland.

Kristin’s paintings, sculptures, and multi-media works explore the relationship between painterly abstraction and the living form. Narrative themes evident in her work include migration, cultural values and humanity. Her works explore issues and stories of migration, cultural values and the human condition. More recently the cultural influences of social-media images which pervade contemporary life and culture are explored through her work.

Kristin has been selected for numerous art awards, including the Archibald Prize, Art Gallery of NSW (Finalist) in 2015, and The Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, Sydney, NSW (Semi-Finalist) in 2013. Her works is represented in private and public collections in Australia and Canada.
