Artist Showcase | Andrew Bonneau

Andrew Bonneau was born in 1981 in Devenport, Tasmania. He lives and work in Cairns, Queensland. Andrew is primarily a portrait painter. His paintings expertly explore techniques developed in the European tradition, with particular emphasis on the use of light and form.

Andrew has been a finalist for a number of major national portrait awards, including the Doug Moran Portrait Prize in 2015 and 2021, and the prestigious Archibald Prize in 2017. His work is represented in private and public collections, including the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra; Macquarie Bank Collection, Sydney; and the State Library of NSW, Sydney.

He is represented by Metro Gallery, Melbourne and Lethbridge Gallery, Brisbane.
